HME Range officer qualification

A further thirteen candidates successfully attended the RCO course run at Kinross over the weekend of 15/16 November. A number of those present indicated interest in gaining the additional High Muzzle Energy firearms qualification. Would all members - and others - wishing to gain this qualification please note that their first step must be to register with the NRA for such a course, at the same time contacting me to advise of their intentions? With a list of registered interested individuals, a date can then be determined on which a suitable course will be run. A venue in the shape of the Shooting Lodge at Gleneagles has generously been offered by Chris Jenkins of the Gleneagles Shooting School and has been gratefully accepted. The course will most likely be run between late afternoon and evening on a weekday.

Election of new Captain of Scottish

To all SRA members:

It is intended to hold the 2009 AGM of the Scottish Rifle Association on Sunday 22 February, in all likelihood at 2.15 pm at the Windlestrae Hotel in Kinross. Among the items of business on that occasion will be the election of a new Captain of Scotland. Council will not be making any proposals in that regard on this occasion so I would appreciate it if anyone wishing to nominate a candidate could submit to me the name of the individual concerned together with that of a seconder by no later than Monday 26 January 2009. After that date, assuming more than one name to have been put forward, I shall make arrangements for a ballot to take place at the AGM itself, getting postal ballot papers out to the membership for completion and return by Saturday 21 February.

Regards,
Allan Mabon Hon. Sec. SRA
